Miriam Johnston awarded "Outstanding Student Presentation Award" for her AGU 2020 talk!

Congratulations to Miriam Johnston who was awarded the "Outstanding Student Presentation Award" for the talk she gave at the 2020 AGU Fall meeting!  The title of Miriam's talk was "What Lies Beneath: Vertical Heterogeneity in Vegetation Canopy Temperatures."  This honor is awarded for only the most exceptional presentations and we are thrilled that the honor was bestowed on Miriam.  Great work, Miriam!

Welcome Talia and Valentina!

The Moorcroft would like to welcome Harvard undergrads, Talia Blatt and Valentina Doerre Torres, to the lab!  Talia and Valentina will be conducting their undergraduate research with members of the Moorcroft Lab during the Spring semester and we're excited to have them with us.  Welcome and best wishes Valentina and Talia!

Elsa Ordway to give AGU talk on December 9th!

Moorcroft Lab postdoc, Elsa Orway, will give a talk entitled "Parameterizing tropical forest diversity: integrating remotely sensed trait measurements with a terrestrial biosphere model" at the AGU's Fall meeting on Wednesday, December 12th.  Recorded talks and sessions will remain on the AGU website and accessible to registered participants through January. The Moorcroft Lab says goodbye and farewell to our friends, Nathan Ranc and Erik Larson!

The Moorcroft Lab bids a fond farewell to our friends, Nathan Ranc and Erik Larson, who are moving on to new to new endeavors.  Nathan will be starting a postdoctoral fellowship in the Wilmers Lab in the Environmental Studies Department at UC Santa Cruz.  Erik will be working as a Research Scientist in the Chemistry Science Laboratory (CSL) of NOAA.  We wish them success in their new positions and hope that they visit us soon!
